The Five Stand Tandem Cold Mill of the National Steel Corp.[Iligan City, Mindanao]was the first of several plants & facilities built by [FS] Foundation Specialists, Inc. as Main Contactor. The bulk of the Five Stand TCM Civil Works was within the 17m deep Pit which was designed and built using FS Top=Down Technologies, Anchored Diaphragm Walls [DW] 1m THICK, EMBEDDED AT THE TOE INTO A CLAY FORMATION, "H" SHAPED COLUMS, BUILT USING DW EQUIMENT, WHICH SERVED AS THE SUPPORT BOTH FOR THE RUNWAYS OF THE HUGE GANTRY BRANES AND FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE ROLLING MILLS' ROOF, BOTH ERECTED AND INSTALLED, ON THE "TOP-DOWN" BUILT COLUMNS, WHILE EXCAVATION OF THE PIT AND ANCHORING OF DW WA,ERE IN PROGRESS.
